Deep Cuts is for the songs that were never the obvious single but still feel like the reason the record exists.
Some are older. Some are buried halfway through a new album. Some are from artists everybody knows, and some are from people who never got enough radio to matter to the charts. The point is not obscurity. The point is usefulness.

Does the song still work without hype around it? Does it say something plain enough to remember? Does it sound right outside, in a truck, or late at night when nobody is performing for anyone?
